Brian and I took the night off from being parents. We dropped Clark at my mother-in-law’s house, and we planned on coming home so I could nap and Brian could work on a project. However, Brian’s project got postponed, and since Clark was already at grandma’s, we figured we would take advantage of the night off. We went shopping and spontaneously grabbed sushi at a snazzy little place a few towns over. And, even though we were enjoying our relaxing impromptu date night, we both had to agree: we missed Clark. And, that’s what it’s like to be parents; you love each other so much, and you also share a love for your child/children that, in our case, just keeps bringing us closer.
So, I’ll keep this post short & sweet: I’m not a girl who will be happy “when” (when we have a bigger place, when we have a new car, when we have more money) – I’m the girl who’s happy now. Here’s to staying in the moment. And here’s to loving the life you’re living now.
Got something to say? Let it out.
